To journey further, walk together
Honing his stressors and life experiences from more than 2 decades in the corporate world (tech sector), SH embarked on his Yoga journey via a serendipitous first lesson in China, followed by an intense Yoga coaching certification with VYASA school and has been passionately teaching Yoga ever since.
As a school-boy, to improve his health, SH practised basic Shaolin kungfu & Qigong plus TCM treatments; areas which continue to fuel his teaching and research interests. The inspiration for founding Yong Yoga comes from his many travels to India and China, and an inner calling to contribute to the community.
Outside of yoga, SH does volunteer work with National Parks Singapore (NParks) as a rainforest nature guide and also participates in community pro-bono projects. A vegetarian, he is a strong environmental advocate.
Like many people, Bernice (Bern) used to think that Yoga was only meant for people who are flexible. She took her first class during her first year at university but only reconnect with Yoga after years. Her second class was in 2014 and fell in love since then. She saw the importance in balancing between physical and mental health.
Inspired to deepen her knowledge and practice she landed herself in 300HR Yoga Teacher Training. Bern enjoys sharing mindfulness practice. She believes practise alignment and breathing will lead to mindfulness.
Outside of the mat, she enjoys reading and she’s a coffee lover!
Leah began Yoga for a simple reason – getting rid of the hustle & bustle going on around her. Simply looking for a moment she can enjoy a piece of silence whereas she found yoga.
Initially, she started her yoga with muscle and core strengthening like Pilates and Vinyasa just looking for a crazy sweat. However she found yoga is far more than that when she studied at VYASA school for teacher certification. The discovery on Yin-Yang balance guides her way to experience what yoga truly is especially in her journey as a Yoga Teacher
With the focus on incorporating Yin-Yang in her practice, she continues to share her passion with everyone and hope every Yongi can discover a sense of blissfulness through yoga.
Apart from Yoga, Leah loves to travel and explore new places. She enjoys nature & landscapes , hiking , cycling and camping. She is currently based in Shanghai (previously in Singapore and Hong Kong). Those whom are visiting or looking for Mandarin class are also welcome!
